A Strong, Collaborative Culture

Strong schools begin with strong culture. Teachers and support staff are closest to the classroom, and their experience and feedback should help shape district decisions. I want CSISD to foster a culture where employees feel heard, collaboration is encouraged, and leadership is willing to make adjustments when something is not working.

We should be a district where great teachers want to stay, where staff feel supported, and where everyone understands that culture and performance go hand in hand.

Student Success for Every Student

Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, but success will not look the same for every child. Some students need intervention and additional academic support. Others need advanced coursework, gifted education, career and technical opportunities, or a different pathway to reach their full potential.

Our job is to meet students where they are and ensure they have access to the resources, programs, and people who can help them grow. That includes prioritizing classroom support and restoring positions, such as interventionists and gifted education specialists, when they provide meaningful academic impact.

Accountability and Responsible Stewardship

CSISD must be accountable to students, employees, families, and taxpayers. That means setting clear expectations, measuring results, and being willing to change course when outcomes are not where they should be.

It also means taking a hard look at how taxpayer dollars are spent. With declining enrollment and revenue pressures, every major expenditure should be evaluated against one question: Does this investment meaningfully support students, teachers, or classrooms?

I believe our budget should prioritize competitive teacher and classroom support salaries, essential academic programs, and direct classroom impact before nonessential spending.

Addressing the Challenges Ahead

CSISD is facing real challenges, including declining enrollment, difficulty filling some teaching positions, and concerns about teacher retention. We should not simply accept those trends. We need to understand why families and educators are making different choices and be willing to act on what we learn.

That requires listening, transparency, thoughtful budgeting, and a willingness to make difficult decisions when necessary.

My goal is not simply to preserve what CSISD has been, but to help build what it can be: a high-performing district with a healthy culture, strong classrooms, responsible leadership, and opportunities for every student to succeed.
